Paris - Day 1

Well, well, well! We made it to Paris Tuesday morning, August 18, 2015. We took an overnight bus from London to Paris, as we got off the bus we started to navigate our way until we were stopped. A French woman, Aude, asked us if we needed help getting to the Metro. She then took us under her wing and helped us get to our hotel from the bus station. Along the commute, we learned a little about each other. We learned she is in Fashion and adores New York, obviously we all bonded over this. Once we made it to our hotel, we kept in touch with Aude throughout the day and planned to meet up later that night. Samantha and I were EXHAUSTED from our trip over to Paris so we took it easy. This gave us time to plan out the rest of our trip, which we did successfully! As the sun began to set, we headed out for the evening to meet up with our new French friend. We had some delicious ice cream at a cute restaurant she recommended and talked more about New York and Paris with her. We then left the restaurant and headed towards the Eiffel Tower…

As we got closer and closer we could see the streets getting brighter from the lights of the tower. Next thing I know, Aude tells us to hurry up so we don't miss the light show! We all start running through the streets of Paris and as we turn the corner there we see it, flickering in the night sky The Eiffel Tower shined bright for all to see. I will never forget this feeling. One of the most magical moments of my life was seeing this beauty for the first time. After the shock had worn off, we walked around the area and took some photos to capture the moment. From meeting our Paris Angel, Aude, to seeing the flickering lights on the Eiffel Tower, to watching couples Tango in front of the tower; there really was no better way to kick off our time in Paris.

Paris - Day 2

Day 2 we spent walking the streets of Paris discovering street art along the way to Moulin Rouge. After we went to Moulin Rouge, we made our back to The Eiffel Tower. I took a bunch of photos at the park and then we just relaxed and discussed what all we wanted to accomplish while in Paris. Of course that built my appetite up so on our way out we ended up eating at an adorable Pizzeria right across from the tower. This gave me the chance to use some of my french speaking knowledge, I ordered my food en francis and felt pretty cool about that. So of course I have been working on speaking it everywhere I go since then… its pretty terrible, but fun to work on! After we ate some delicious french Pizza, we headed back to the hotel where we met some other back packers from all over world. We spent the night mingling with these back packers and enjoying our time in Paris.

Paris - Day 3

Now... today has been incredible. We started the day off by shopping at this stunning department store, Galeries Lafayette, which is like France's version of Bloomingdales. After our big shopping trip, we walked all over Paris until we got to Notre Dame. I can not even begin to explain to you the beauty of this Cathedral. Not only is it a breathtaking sight to see but the power you feel when walking through the aisles is unlike anything I have ever felt before. I am pretty sure Samantha & I could have stayed in there all day.

Since we have done so much walking today, it has allowed us to see so much of the city. I just can not get over the beauty of the architecture. Europe has really made me realized how much I prefer historical buildings than modern day architecture. Paris is one of the most breath taking cities I have and probably will ever see. Today has just been so special for us for so many different reasons.

I am so happy we have a few more days here, there is just so much to see and learn!

Until we meet again,
